In 1990, legendary manga artist Go Nagai ( Devilman , Mazinger Z ) co-created a manga titled Kamasutra (カーマスートラ) with Kunio Nagatani. This official work, published by Tokuma Shoten, was a four-volume adventure manga with hentai elements, inspired by the ancient Indian text. It was later adapted into a hentai OVA in 1992. While sharing a root name and adult themes, the official Kamasutra is a completely different work from the fan-made Kamehasutra .
